I want to thank the dozens of constituents who have been in contact about the horses abandoned in Binfield.

It is a deeply alarming situation and distressing to see these animals abandoned in such a heartless way and the perpetrators must be held accountable for their actions.

In particular, I want to thank the wonderful public spirit shown by local residents in providing feed and water to the horses and raising money for their care.

I have been in contact with the RSPCA, the local Council and Thames Valley Police in recent days to discuss the issue and they are working hard to resolve the issue and find a safe place for the horses.

It is a dreadful situation which I am hopeful can be brought to a swift and positive conclusion that puts residents’ minds at ease who are, like me, deeply concerned for the welfare of these noble animals.
