Christmas Message

At Christmas and New Year I like to take the time to reflect on the year just gone.

While 2014 has been a challenge at times, we have also seen some really positive signs here in Windsor, Old Windsor, Eton, Eton Wick, Datchet, Colnbrook, Poyle, Horton, Wraysbury, the Sunnings, Ascot, Winkfield, Warfield, Binfield and across the constituency.

This year has shown that, when challenges arise, people do not sit back in silence. I would like to thank you again, as well as our councillors, carers, volunteers and charity workers.

I’d also like to thank those who have been so active more recently in the fight against our welcome but noisy neighbour, Heathrow Airport.

We certainly have some challenges ahead of us going into 2015 but while we are still in 2014, we should be proud of what we have achieved so far.

One of the best gifts a young person can receive this Christmas is a job or apprenticeship for the New Year.

So I am over the moon that figures released last week by the Office of National Statistics show that unemployment in the Windsor constituency is now at just 0.9 per cent, among the lowest of anywhere in the country.

For me, Christmas this year will be even better knowing that hundreds more constituents and their families will have the security of a regular pay packet in 2015.

This Christmas and New Year I want to take the opportunity to say a big ‘Thank You’ for your support throughout the year.

I’m so proud to represent such an active constituency and you have my commitment as your Member of Parliament that I will always fight tooth and nail in the best interest of local residents and national interest.

I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year with your friends and family.
