MP continues fight against Heathrow expansion
30th January 2009
Windsor MP
Adam Afriyie has continued his fight against Heathrow
expansion plans, on the behalf of local residents.
Speaking in
the Parliamentary debate on Wednesday 28th
January, Mr Afriyie raised concerns about a possible rise in
night flights after 2012, urging the Prime Minister to see
reason over the proposed third runway.
Despite being
disappointed that the motion proposed by the Conservative
Party, which calls for the Government to re-think its
expansion plans, was defeated by only 19 votes, Mr Afriyie
has vowed to keep up the pressure on the Government.
‘ I will continue to hold the Government to account over
their ill thought out plans for Heathrow. I urge local
residents to keep supporting me in this fight and sharing
their thoughts and concerns with me.’
