Organ Donation for
Daisy
12-May-06, Windsor Express
Article.
I attended a fundraising day for Daisy Halfacre
at Dedworth Green First School last Saturday.
Daisy is a pupil who is in urgent need of a liver
transplant. The staff and Parent Teacher Association of the
School did a wonderful job organising the event for Daisy.
It was a great success and, in spite of a touch of rain, I
was encouraged by the number of people who turned out in
support, and delighted to help with the opening.
Daisy’s courage and determination in the face of illness
is a lesson to us all and I was humbled by people’s
generosity and their sense of community spirit.
Awareness of the need for organ donation has been
heightened and many more people have been persuaded to
consider donating an organ.
Events like this reaffirm my belief in the generous
spirit of Windsor residents, who I am proud to represent. |
I
believe
People are happier
when making their own decisions.
Business is the
engine of the economy that generates our jobs, incomes and
taxes.
Government should
not interfere in our lives beyond protecting and defending
us.
