Dedworth Disturbance
13-Oct-06, Windsor Express
Article.
Last week, Windsor’s characteristic peace and
quiet was disturbed. The dispute seemed to centre around
a planning proposal at the Medina Dairy in Dedworth and
the anti-social behaviour that occurred was a terrible
disturbance for local residents.
I have been in Dedworth recently door knocking and
although it faces some challenges, it really is a great
area.
It was a disappointment that some of the national
coverage of the disturbances was completely out of
proportion and I thank our local papers for providing
responsible reporting and coverage focused on the facts
rather than sensationalism.
The anti-social behaviour seen was unacceptable and we
must crack down on this in all cases, whether it is caused
by noisy neighbours or boisterous youths.
Thanks are due to local residents, councillors and the
police who have pulled out all the stops to keep the
situation under control.
Dedworth is a great place to live and residents should
not have to have their peace and quiet interrupted by the
selfish behaviour of a few people. |
I
believe
People are happier
when making their own decisions.
Business is the
engine of the economy that generates our jobs, incomes and
taxes.
Government should
not interfere in our lives beyond protecting and defending
us.
